Development of electroplating processing industry
Electroplating plant is a process for surface processing of parts by electrolysis. The parts of the plating are cathode, and the metal ions in the bath are deposited on the surface of the parts to form a uniform and dense metal coating under the action of direct current. The necessary conditions for plating are the external DC power supply, the plating bath, the plating parts and the anode.
Electroplating is achieved by changing the appearance and physical and chemical properties of the parts to achieve various technical properties such as decoration, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance. It can also apply some kind of functional coating, such as weldability, electric energy, magneto energy, light energy coating, etc., to fully expand the application range of metal materials.
Electroplating has been widely used in various fields of national economy and science. It has become an indispensable part in machine manufacturing, national defense, communications, transportation, light industry and other industries. In the mechanical production, electroplating is widely used to improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of various parts, such as shafts and sets, and plays an increasingly important role in the sealing and anticorrosion of various high pressure washer as well as various kinds of mechanical wear and repair size of the machined parts.
Electroplating is one of the basic processes in the manufacturing industry. Because of the special technical and economic advantages of electroplating processing, it is not only difficult to be completely replaced, but also has new breakthroughs in the fields of electronics and steel. After the reform and opening up, the electroplating industry has also entered a rapid development period. A large number of overseas manufacturers have entered the areas such as China's Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Bohai and other economically developed and convenient areas.
The hot spot of electroplating process is transferred from the machinery, light industry and other industries to the electronics and steel industry, which is transferred from the simple protective decorative coating to the functional coating, from the relative dispersion to the gradual integration. And the types of electroplating are also increasing, from the earliest gold plating, silver plating, copper plating to later nickel plating, zinc plating, hard chromium plating and tin plating.
According to the relevant data, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other coastal developed cities have gathered most of the electroplating enterprises throughout the country, but in the national electroplating enterprises, 70% of the electroplating enterprises are only small and medium enterprises. The results show that the majority of electroplated metals in the mainland of China are nickel plating, accounting for 24%, and the proportion of galvanized and chromium plating is equal, all slightly lower than that of nickel plating, which are 17%, copper plating and tin plating are 15% and 10% respectively, while gold and silver precious metals account for 8% of the total.
The main reason is that the electroless nickel coating has the characteristics of high stability, good gloss, strong decorative, high wear resistance and strong corrosion resistance in the air. If combined with other materials, the electroless plating can improve the hardness and wear resistance, and even become a lubricating coating.
